A U.S. federal judge has revealed a disturbing series of threats and intimidation attempts he faced after issuing a ruling against the Trump administration, raising fresh concerns about growing hostility toward the American judiciary.
U.S. District Chief Judge John J. McConnell Jr. of Rhode Island, an Obama appointee, became a target after temporarily blocking the Trump administration’s attempt to freeze billions of dollars in federal funding in 2025.
